Riverside Sunday Series - FREE PARKOUR
OVER/UNDER/THROUGH - A 6-WEEK PARKOUR FITNESS CLASS
Join Movement Creative coaches Mike Araujo, Sabrina Mack, Cristina Latici, Daris Estevez and Lily Lu for a 6-week program to teach you the basics of parkour. Build your strength, agility, coordination, and mobility with drills, partner exercises, and games.
WEEKS 1-2: OVER
Learn how to overcome any obstacle. The first series of classes will focus on developing jumping and vaulting skills. Expect to learn proper landing techniques for safety as well as several techniques for overcoming walls, rails, benches, and more!
WEEKS 3-4: UNDER
Embrace your inner animal. For the next series of classes, we will be focusing on primal movement patterns (e.g., bear crawls or quadrupedal movement, swinging like a monkey, rolling). You will use these skills to develop better coordination and mobility while the coaches lead you through some of their favorite movement games (parkour tag, anyone?).
WEEKS 5-6: THROUGH
Flow like water. To wrap things up, the final series will focus on moving smoothly through any obstacle or course. We will teach you ways to go through (and under) bars, railings, and scaffolding. You will develop a sense of rhythm in your movement so you can move through a course with intention.
We’ll see you at Riverside Parkour Park!
FREE Movement Class!
Join us after our Riverside Sunday Series on May 3rd for two more hours of movement taught by our guest coaches!
Calisthenics with
Rob Hued
This session will focus on using one’s body weight to assess pushups, pull ups, and burpees. We will speak to the importance of moving the body in these “basic” moves, while connecting the breath with movement. Stretch work beforehand will allow us to release our shoulders and back.
Roberto Hued is a first-generation American Dominican who grew up back and forth in both the Dominican Republic and Harlem NYC. He is a signed Nike athlete & trainer who teaches mobility through yoga, breathwork & calisthenics. Rob has over seven years of experience at Drip-Sweat, the only fitness studio in Washington Heights. @RobsBoring
Intro to Capoeira
with
Isabela Reis (Dandara)
This session invites athletes to explore a movement practice that blends martial arts, rhythm, creativity, and flow. Capoeira emphasizes ground movement, inverted positions, spatial awareness, and improvisation. We will cover the foundations of Capoeira movement, including the ginga or fundamental step, evasions, playful exchanges, and elements of rhythm and music that shape the game. No experience is necessary—just curiosity, openness to move, and a willingness to play.
Dandara began her journey eight years ago in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She moved to New York in 2019 and found her home at Capoeira Guatambu attaining one of the school's highest ranks, known as "Graduada." Capoeira Guatambu became not only her training ground and athletic challenge but also her community. Through Capoeira, Dandara has grown both as an athlete and as a person, gaining confidence and establishing a deeper connection with Brazilian culture.

From there, we’ll shift into standing balance play to learn body control, coordination, and awareness. All levels welcome. Come curious. Leave steadier, stronger, and more in-tune with your body. BYO props (blocks & straps) to help you find alignment, build confidence, and explore your edge without bailing out.
