What We Do

The Movement Creative’s professional development program is designed to give your coaching team the curriculum, knowledge, and tools to bring parkour to your space safely. Our emphasis is on playful movement exploration, so our coaching system is built on the idea that we can coach a class in any space, whether that is a full outfitted gym or a park with a picnic table and a handrail.

Coaching Philosophy

Our development program and curriculum is built three models: Social, Mental, and Physical. After years of presenting, sharing, and refining these ideas, we will present them to your team using these visual representations along with in-depth discussions around application. The goal is to create systems that are easy to understand, but feel infinitely adaptable to fit any situation.

Below are a few examples of some of our models to give you a small sample of what to expect.

Methodology

Cristina Latici, our Director of Programming, is also one of our lead coaches for programs catered towards younger movers. She holds a Master’s Degree in Parent/Infant Development and is New York State certified in general and special education, so she is crucial in developing effective curriculum and coaching strategies for students under the age of seven.

See the video below for a breakdown of what a typical class looks like for our Parkour Explore class for 4- to 6-year-olds.

Our Coaching Experience

Jesse and many of the coaches on our team have hosted workshops and coached special sessions at events and gyms all over the world, including China for UABB 2017 and Denmark at Gerlev for their International Gathering, as well as Texas for the International Play Association Conference, Massachusetts for the American Rendezvous Event, and Washington for the Art of Retreat Conference to name just a few.

Gear and Equipment

We’ve built our curriculum and programming around the idea that we can find obstacles anywhere. For indoor facilities, we can accomplish a lot with just a little equipment. See below for a brief video on some of our favorite simple obstacles and how we can use them in a variety of ways during a class.
