What is Nature Power Hour?
At its core, Nature Power Hour is our answer to physical education in 2020. Our diverse and passionate team will help your child explore and develop physical skills via our favorite movement activities while sharing our curriculum in insect and wildlife, orienteering, playground design, and game design.
A semester of Nature Power Hour costs $3,000 (with sliding scale options).
In order to reduce exposure and keep cohort/pod consistency, we are only offering Parkour Adventure as a full semester. We are not offering drop-in options.
We strive to be weatherproof, but in the event of dangerous weather conditions (e.g., flash flooding, tropical storms), we will default to an online session via Zoom.
We will continue to offer sliding scale pricing for those in need with semester pricing starting at a 60% discount. Sliding scale pricing is available via coupon codes on the purchase page.
All payments are non-refundable, but credit may be used towards other Movement Creative programming, gear, or pop-up equipment if there are any last-minute cancellations
We are currently only offering Nature Power Hour in Jackson Heights, Queens on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:30 - 4:30 PM. As we expand our programming, we may be able to offer additional days and/or locations. If you have a group and are interested in setting up a program in your neighborhood, please contact us.
Pick up and drop off at the concrete steps on 77th St. next to the handball courts.
What makes it different?
We believe strongly in experiential learning, and this program is built with the understanding that people support what they help to create.
While we give students an opportunity to explore the curriculum we provide, we will also observe which topics the children in the group are most connected with and then invite them to contribute and help shape the program.
We are also happy to collaborate with parents prior to the start of the semester to better understand how we can meet educational expectations. We strive to be clever, tenacious, and adaptable and to teach and lead people towards being lifelong learners by modeling that ourselves.
What does class look like?
Each of our classes are unique and are shaped by our students’ interests, the locations, and the weather. Here are some recent clips from our Parkour Adventure program to give you an idea of what your child can expect for parkour instruction. We love sharing movement games to encourage group participation, but we also know plenty of technique-based drills if students are interested in honing specific parkour moves.

How does sliding-scale work?
Sliding-scale works by community support. Participants who can pay full price are financially supporting those who choose to use a discount code.
Sliding-scale is not subsidized by outside organizations, it is made possible by those who choose to pay full price.
Accessibilty to quality programming is important to us, so we will continue to offer sliding-scale options as long as we can sustainably do so.
